The PHS Varsity Softball team ran away from the Lee-Montgomery Generals for a 12-2 victory in a 5 inning run rule game. The crucial area win ups the Lady Lions record to 20-5 on the year overall and 4-0 in the area.

The Prattville bats came alive early and often led by Sam Hilyer with a single, double and a mammoth home run over the center field fence in the 5th inning. Hilyer also drove in 4 RBI. Emma Hindi also added a towering home run to center field and a single with 3 RBI. Kelby Hogan and Antinique Clay had 2 hits apiece to add to the potent Prattville bats. Melissa Townsend took the win on the mound going 5 innings and allowing no earned runs and only 3 hits with 5 strikeouts.

The Lady Lions have now won 19 of their last 21 games as they head into a weekend tournament at Gadsden City High School. Prattville will open up Friday afternoon with a strong Shelby County team before tangling with the reigning 2 time 5A state champion Springville High School Tigers Friday night.
