Prattville vs. Houston Academy, 2/25/16
Prattville took on Houston Academy for the first game of the Terry Sikes Tournament in Troy, Alabama. This game took place at Troy University’s Riddle-Pace Field, Thursday, February 25 at 2:30. This was a challenging game from the beginning as Houston Academy began to score early on in the game. Houston pulled away and had a final score of 13 against the Prattville Lions 2.
Prattville vs. Charles Henderson High School, 2/25/16
The Prattville Lions followed their game with Houston Academy by playing Charles Henderson at their high school just down the road from Riddle-Pace Field. During this game Prattville was able to get Zac Hahn, TJ Thomas, Eric Lambdin, Tucker Mills, Reed Smith, Richard Ganster, Caleb Moses, Gideon Moyer-Craft, and Cori Trotter on base during the game. In the third inning, Zac Hahn was able to get on base with a fielder’s choice. He then stole 2nd and 3rd, and scored the first run on a wild pitch. In the 4th inning with Richard Ganster and Caleb Moses on board, TJ Thomas walked to fill the bases. With the bases loaded Zac Hahn hit a sharp grounder to 2nd, causing an error by the 2nd baseman which allowed Richard Ganster and Caleb Moses to score Prattville’s last runs of the game with a final score of Prattville 3, Charles Henderson 5.
Prattville vs. Robertsdale, 2/26/16
Last night’s game against RHS at Troy’s Riddle-Pace Field was an exciting contest in which Prattville came out with a score of 6 to 5.
Although Prattville was trailing 5-0 into the 7th and final inning, their comeback started with Eric Lambdin’s lead off hit. This was quickly followed by Caleb Moses’s on base hit. Shortly thereafter, Coach Colvin signaled for a double steal which was executed flawlessly and advanced the runners, Eric Lambdin and Caleb Moses, to 2nd and 3rd base with no outs. After one out on the board a wild pitch allowed Eric Lambdin to score from 3rd and Caleb Moses to move from 2nd to 3rd. This was followed by Tyler Lamar’s walk and an exciting single by Jackson Randolph, which drove in the 3rd run of the Lions’ 7th inning.
Coming off the bench Micah Henderson got a base hit which set the stage for Reed Smith’s bases loaded triple, tying the game 5-5. With the winning run on 3rd and 2 outs, TJ Thomas stepped to the plate to drive in the winning run for the Lions. For a final score of Prattville 6, Robertsdale 5.
