Saturday 10/7/17: The Prattville cross country teams competed at the Jesse Owens Classic in Danville, Alabama in which over 200 schools from 5 states participated. Prattville was impressive with five Top-10 finishes and 19 new PRs (personal records). Standout performances include the following:
- Senior Wes Domsalla raced in the Men’s Red Division among 498 runners from 39 schools. He finished runner-up with a time of 17:33 trailing the leader by just 2 seconds. His performance was honored with the 2nd place on the podium, a Top-10 medal and a Top-30 T-shirt.
- Junior Ryan Holtzscher finished 6th in the Men’s Red division with his new PR of 18:03. He earned a Top-10 medal and a Top-30 T-shirt.
- Freshman Lizzie Allen raced in the Women’s Red Division among 261 runners from 23 schools and led the Prattville team to a 4th place finish. She finished 3rd overall with a new PR of 21:05 and only trailed the leader by 8 seconds. Her performance was honored with 3rd place on the podium, a Top-10 medal, and a Top-30 T-shirt.
- 7th Grader Catherine Ragsdale finished 4th in the Women’s Red division with her new PR of 21:12. She earned a Top-10 medal and a Top-30 T-shirt.
- Junior Sophia Loy finished 9th in the Women’s Red division with her new PR of 21:51. She earned a Top-10 medal and a Top-30 T-shirt.
- Senior Sydni Fuqua , a 4-year XC veteran who has competed in over 20 races, totally demolished her old PR today by slashing 2 minutes and 12 seconds from her fastest time. AMAZING!!!

The Prattville Cross Country teams will be in action next Saturday at the AUM Warhawk XC Challenge on the campus of AUM in Montgomery. Girls race first at 8:00am and boys race at 8:45am. Come out and cheer them on.
